A healthy intestine should contain a good balance of “friendly” bacteria to keep the growth of undesirable organisms under control.
• Healthy gut flora are important for maintaining efficient digestive and immune function.
• Bad breath, flatulence and abdominal bloating are often signs of poor digestion.
• Lactobacillus acidophilus may help to reduce dietary cholesterol, when taken in conjunction with a low fat diet.
• L. acidophilus may help to reduce the spread of yeast organisms such as Candida Albicans in the intestines.
• L. acidophilus may assist in normalizing bowel function.
• L. casei and B. longum are organisms which have a beneficial effect on the acid/alkaline balance of the gut.
• B.infantis is a beneficial bacteria which is found in large quantities in the guts of breastfed infants.
