• The amino acid L-Glutamine is an excellent brain fuel. It has the rare ability to pass through the protective barrier of this organ and enter the brain directly.
• Glutamine picks up toxic ammonia from the brain.
• It affects the hypothalamus, the part of the brain that controls appetite.
• L-Glutamine is particularly helpful in reducing cravings for carbohydrates.
• Alcoholics find it useful for combating the desire for alcohol. A major factor in alcoholism is in fact low blood sugar which leads to cravings for sweet food and drink. L-Glutamine helps stabilise blood sugar levels thereby reducing the desire to "binge" on sugary foods.
